Safety Reminders

How can I keep my Fairview Child safe?

Great question families! Keeping your children off of their scooters, skateboards, and shoes with wheels while at school is a great safety measure.

Please remember to keep your pets at home! We love pets at Fairview, but home is a better place for them to be.

Weather

It is so important to keep the kiddos warm, especially with those chilly Colorado mornings!

Students are outside before school, after school, and during recess unless the temperature drops below 20°F.

To help your student stay comfortable and safe, here are a few quick tips for dressing appropriately:

  • Layer Up: Use a base layer, an insulating middle layer (like fleece), and a waterproof outer shell.

  • Keep Extremities Covered: Don't forget hats, gloves/mittens, and warm socks to prevent frostbite.

  • Footwear: Insulated, waterproof boots are best for snow and slush. (Students are asked to bring a change of shoes for gym class)

Sign in/ Sign out System

Student safety is very important to us here at Fairview.  Maintaining a clear sign-in/sign-out system is one of the most effective ways to manage student safety and accountability without disrupting the flow of the classroom. It provides that essential "paper trail" (or digital log) in case of emergencies or drills. This system is used throughout the building for bathroom breaks, water breaks, and tardy students.
